Enabling scene detection with Chronos frame interpolation changes the length of the video

Steps to reproduce:

  • Enhance a video with only the Frame Interpolation toggle
  • Select Chronos (may or may not be exclusive to this model)
  • Ensure Scene detection is On

Expected result:
The output video should have the same duration as the input video.

Actual result:
The output video has a longer duration than the input video.

how much longer?

On a 21 minute video I had, it increased the duration by 45 seconds. So, not insignificant.

if it was just milliseconds i would say it comes from drop first/last frames, but 45s is significant and i assume audio is out of sync now?! Unless he inserts black frames at the end, I’ve had that once, the video was just artificially extended with nothing, I could just cut that away and it was ok.

If you are still seeing this occur in the app, can you send the logs to the support team? help@topazlabs.com

Trying to get all of the issues shifted over to the devs as there are several that have been missed on the forums since the launch of Topaz Video.
