I wonder why Topaz Photo uses more than 32 GB disc space on my iMac, this is more than Lightroom, Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, Microsoft Word and Excel together. What causes this amount of disc use?
Any help appreciated.
Best regards, Peter

Hi,
The model files. That’s the price for using AI
.
Hi.
Topaz Photo takes up a significant amount of hard drive space primarily because it stores massive AI Models files directly on your computer.
Unlike many other apps that process data solely in the cloud, Topaz performs all its AI thinking locally.
This allows you to use it offline and ensures better privacy, hence, it comes at the cost of your storage space.
Hope this helps
Thank you very much for your explanation. One more question: I use topaz photo 100% as photoshop plug-in. Therefore is it possible to remove the standalone topaz photo app from the iMac keeping the plugins going to get back some disc space?
thank you very much, Peter
The Standalone version and the Photoshop Plugin are one in the same meaning you can’t have one without the other
So, I’m afraid not and besides, even if you could it wouldn’t make the application any smaller
Hope this helps
