Education | Super Focus Workflow

Used the function on a couple of my trouble photos and I am impressed with the results so far.

My question is …

Is there a recommended processing order (workflow) for applying Super Focus with the other adjustments/enhancements such as Denoise, Sharpen, Adjust Lighting, Balance Color?

For example: do them all before Super Focus, or do Denoise before Super Focus then Sharpen etc., or do Denoise and Sharpen before Super Focus then any other enhancements, and so forth.

Thanks,
Marty

Hi.

The recommended workflow is as follows:

RAW Workflow
RAW Denoise is always applied first then apply Super Focus and Recover Faces next, Sharpening if needed followed by other Enhancements as required before finally Upscaling the image

Non RAW Workflow
If you intend to use Super Focus within your image workflow then, always apply Super Focus first

Because, any Enhancements you make before applying Super Focus will be discarded after Super Focus has been applied therefore, you’ll have to reapply other Enhancements again

So, Super Focus first then, Denoise followed by Recover Faces and other Enhancements as required for instance
Adjust Lighting
Balance Color
Remove Noise
Sharpen
Remove Object
Recover Faces
Preserve Text
Upscale

Experiment with your images to get the best result. In general, Topaz recommends following this simple 3-step process:

  1. Choose an enhancement model and adjust the settings to fine-tune the strength in the Controls tab.

  2. If necessary, use the Selection tab to select the parts of the image to include or exclude from processing.

  3. Preview the final result and decide if further edits are needed.

Hope this helps
