Hi everyone,
I have the newest version of Topaz Photo AI (v. 3.3.2) and when I load a .cr3 file it doesn’t recognize the lens, meaning it doesn’t apply the right lens correction. It just uses “Camera standard” profile.
I’ve checked on the official website of Lensfun, which as I understand correctly is the software Topaz uses for lens correction, and it states that both my camera and my lens are fully compatible.
Gear used for these photos:
Camera: Canon EOS R5 (the base model, not the newest Mark II)
Lens: Canon RF 24-105mm F4L IS USM
I’ve uploaded a sample photo that recreates this problem.
Any help appreciated
Topaz Photo AI [v3.3 1J1A0347.CR3 (51.2 MB)
.2] on [Windows/Mac]
Please take a screen recording of this behavior so I can see exactly what is happening and I can be sure that I am able to replicate this workflow on my machine.
@denver41 and @julian.chrzanowski - lens correction info will not appear. It will be read from metadata info and applied. Color standard is a color profile, set in camera. This is not related to lens correction.
Photo AI will read the camera metadata and apply lens correction based on your camera/lens combo, to fix distortion. If you prefer the lens correction of Adobe, you can turn off Photo AI’s lens correction in Edit > Preferences > general. Send any remaining issues or questions to support@topazlabs.com and we can have a look!
