Education | How to access the new app

I have Topaz Photo. When opened, it keeps showing “New Topaz Photo” button at top right. Clicking this goes through closing and updating, but looks just the same when it restarts. Current vsn shows a 4.04 - it’s not possible to tell from your website if this is the current vsn.

Hi.

You mentioned at the beginning you have Topaz Photo then, a little later you mentioned 4.0.4 which believe it or not is a similar Application but, different so, let’s assume for now you’re using Topaz Photo AI 4.0.4.

You are currently, using Topaz Photo AI, and your Application is asking you to Upgrade to Topaz Photo which is as I said, believe it or not a similar Application but, different and the only way you know this is because, one has > AI < bolted on the end of and the other one doesn’t

Confusing isn’t it

The actual difference is Topaz Photo AI is the old Perpetual License version and has now been discontinued as off September 16th and your version Topaz Photo AI 4.04 is the final version apart from minor updates for Operating System compatibility issues.

Topaz are giving you the opportunity within your version of Topaz Photo AI to Upgrade to Topaz Photo which is the new version moving forward and is Subscription only.

I’m afraid, you can not remove this Update indication, you’re just have to ignore it unless you wish to rollback to a previous version.

Topaz Photo AI v4.0.4 is the discontinued version

Topaz Photo v1.0.2 is the new current version

Now then, if my assumption was incorrect and you are indeed using the new Subscription only version Topaz Photo after all then, here’s the link to download the latest version 1.0.2 for both Windows and Mac

Windows

https://downloads.topazlabs.com/deploy/TopazPhoto/1.0.2/TopazPhoto-1.0.2.msi

Mac

https://downloads.topazlabs.com/deploy/TopazPhoto/1.0.2/TopazPhoto-1.0.2.pkg

Hope this helps

Hello Mac,

Many thanks for your reply. That explains it! Yes, you’re correct, I have Topaz Photo AI.

And you’re right - it is a confusing name

I fear I won’t move to the new software; whilst the Topaz stuff is brilliant, I’m afraid I don’t use it enough to justify buying the new version.

Again, thanks for your help

Best wishes ~ Brian Brooks
