Discussion | Topaz Photo AI Vs Sharpen AI & Adjust AI

Other than combining the features of the individual products into one (ie. upscaling, noise reduction, sharpening, etc) does Photo AI have significantly improved technologies over the older versions (from about 2022) of Adjust AI and Sharpen AI? I have had people recommend I get Photo AI but I still have my Adjust and Sharpen AI products installed and am trying to see if it’s worth upgrading or not. (My cameras are supported by versions of Adjust AI and Sharpen AI I have.) I’m just curious if the algorithms are significantly better in Photo AI (as I understand the old individual AI products, except Gigapixels, are no longer being updated).

Hi.

Photo AI has improved Denoiseing and Sharpening also, including the new Face Recovery version 2 and not forgetting the Generative Super Focus Model however, it’s a personal choice if you think they’re worth the upgrade over your current applications or not.

Why not download the the trial version and give it a try for yourself.

Gigapixel has enhanced Upscaling over it’s predecessor as well as the same Face Recovery as Photo AI plus you get the incredible Generative Redefine and Recover Models and it’s a lot cheaper than Photo AI

Besides, if your original three applications were current at the time of Photo AI’s release then, you would have received a free copy of Photo AI maybe, worth asking

Hope this helps

I have both Photo and Gigapixel AI and I’m still using Topaz DeNoise 6 on a regular basis because it never generates unexpected artifacts like the newer AI versions sometimes do. I still use Studio 2 and Adjust AI occasionally as well because they offer unique effects I can’t create otherwise.

If you have the older individual programs of Sharpen AI and Denoise AI, keep them and back them up. I do not understand why Photo AI did not just use those modules in their all in one program. They were both superior to what is in Photo AI. The only advantage to Photo AI is that you have the subject detect feature which makes localized sharpening quicker. But that’s it. If there is any way to tell Topaz to use the older individual modules - or make them available again - please do so. They were better. Plain and simple.
