I use Lightroom Classic and Topaz Photo. Photo for Denoise and Sharpen with the Wildlife model (for birds). My raw files are Olympus ORF files.

I’m going to replace my failing laptop with a new desktop. I’m looking at an Intel Ultra 7 270K CPU and an NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti or 5080. Both GPUs have 16GB. I’m considering 64GB for my system memory.

The delta from a 5070 Ti to 5080 is about $600. I see lots of gaming benchmarks, but I’m not a gamer. For LR Classic, the 5080 only appears to get an extra 10% in performance which isn’t all that significant. What can I expect out of Topaz Photo? Would the $600 be better spent on more memory or additional storage?

I have both and the performance gap between them as about 10% in Topaz apps.

And 5070ti is paired with Core i7-10700 with 2666 DDR4, and 5080 is paired with Ryzen 5900x and 6400 DDR5.

In fact 5070Ti is a slightly slower 5080. It’s the same chip that hasn’t passed QC to be labelled as 5080.

I’d save the $600 to help pay for the subscription fees.

Thanks everybody. The system with with 5070 Ti went on backorder and the one with the 5080 dropped in price so I went for it.
