Hello, I have noticed the performance of this model steadily decrease with each video I do. It started at 1.7fps and version 1.7.0 could keep that consistently. I have watched it lose 0.1 fps after each video where I use it where it is now down to 1.3 fps. I have been turning off the hardware acceleration but turning it back on has not made any difference. Not really sure what would cause this but sometimes I may get 2 videos before it drops an 0.1 fps. I use the model almost daily but will most likely revert to 1.7.0. I am doing the same type of video too so no change in the source media that would warrant lower performance. No settings changes or patches etc. on PC either.
When you are seeing this drop in performance, are you actively using the system in other apps, or running the files back to back?
If you close the app and restart your machine does the processing speed go back up? Is the system running hot and you hear the fans running hard?
Can you grab the logs and send to the support team at help@topazlabs.com for review? Need more information to understand what is happening here.
To gather logs, please select Help > Logging > Get Logs for Support and attach the zip file to your reply.
Here is a video to help with the steps of how to collect the logs.
Hi Kyle,
I just emailed the logs to support. I make sure everything is closed when using any Starlight model.
I have tried rebooting as well and makes no difference.
The system does run hot when running any of the starlight models. Version 1.6 used to have crashes and ran really hot but 1.7 seemed to fix that issue and instead of maxing the GPU at 99% for the entire process, it only spikes to 99% and then drops and does that the entire time which I believe is normal. It does not run as hot as version 1.6 did. I never run back to back either but sometimes in the same day but hours apart.
It is very odd especially how it goes down 0.1 after doing 1 or 2 videos and does not come back to previous performance. I have not reverted the version yet either.
