DeNoise AI file size

I would like to include deNoise AI in my usual workflow, but it increases the file size entirely too much. Using deNoise 3.3, processing from a7riii raw file (43.3MB) to DNG produces DNG files of 253MB. Converting to TIFF (16 bit, compressed – not willing to go to 8 bits) was 295 MB, even larger.

Is there information about why things increase so much? What the resultant DNG files are – I think they wrap a TIFF file.

But a 5-fold increase in size is a bit “over the top.”

For reference, using DxO PureRaw as the raw processor (for the same file formats) results in files whose sizes vary from 100-180 MB (note that they vary – DeNoise’s files are all exactly the same size). DeNoise is faster, taking about 40-50 seconds to process each image, where DxO PureRaw is much more. This is on a 2013 Mac Pro (“trashcan”) so it’s a rather dated machine. When that M1X or M2 Mac Mini comes out…
