Deblocking not working with upscale

I have a 2003 era video file, when upscaling it doesnt de block it, it just enhances the blocks and makes them more noticeable. I’ve upscaled probably a thousand or more videos and generally get good results with artermis HQ,MQ and proteus. Perhaps the file is earlier than the software is designed for, or newer updates of Topaz don’t have this issue. This is the first ive seen it when upscaling and the source video is a 1st gen .wmv file.

I’ve tried all options in cluding keeping resolution the same and input and it doesnt actually reduce the pixel blocking which is very noticable. V3.11

Transcode it to another format like ffv1 or maybe h.264 and then try again?

You listed v3.11 at the end of the post, is that the version of Video AI that you are using?

Converting the file to another format might help and you can use Handbrake to do this and see if that helps.
