Conflict between Topaz Video Studio and Magix Pro X17

Dear Topaz team, since I upgrated to Topaz Video Studio, a massive problem occures each time I run an update of Topaz Video: After finishing the update, my main video software Magix Video Pro X17 can’t be startet. Instead, a window opens which says: “A part of the program can’t be found. Reinstall Magix Video Pro X17.” I seems, Topaz kills this part of the program. But there is no detailes information which part it might be. Reinstalling needs very much time, cause I have to delete several directorys and files manually after the normal deinstallation.

Are you having the OFX and After Effects plug-ins from Topaz Video install as part of the update? If so, try disabling those when running an installation or update, especially if you are not using them for your workflow.

We have seen situations where the OFX plug-in for Topaz Video causes errors in other apps that also use these types of plug-ins loaded in from a general folder. The team is working on finding a way to keep them supported and prevent them from interfering with other apps that can not use it.

If that does not resolve the issue, please pull the logs and system profile report to send to the support team at help@topazlabs.com for further investigation.

To gather logs, please select Help > Logging > Get Logs for Support and attach the zip file to your reply.

Good morning Kyle,
thank you for your fast response. Until now, I never noticed a opportunity to disable OFX and AE plugins during updating Topaz Video. I don’t use both in my workflow cause I only use Magix for cutting videos. Next time I run an update I will consider your advice and will report what will happened.
