Click here to fix Windows installer 0xc0e90002 error or .dll error

I’m having inconsistent issues with Topaz Photo AI (v1.4.1) on Windows. Sometimes the app fails to launch with an imageio.dll error (0xc0e90002), but other times it opens normally without any changes. When using it through Lightroom Classic, the app often causes freezes during the roundtrip process. I also had login issues recently that resolved on their own. Other Topaz apps like Gigapixel and Video AI work fine on the same system, so this seems specific to Photo AI. The behavior feels random and unstable. Is this a known issue with this version?

If you go into the Topaz Photo preferences and change “AI Processor” to CPU, do the same problems occur?

I switched the AI processor to my NVIDIA GPU (RTX 2070 SUPER) instead of Auto. I hadn’t tested it that way before, so I’ll run some tests now and see if the instability persists.

This error 0xc0e90002 is usually related to MSVC (Microsoft Visual C++), which provides required runtime components for many Windows applications. If it’s outdated or missing, installers can fail. It will give a .dll error.

Please update your MSVC using this link: Visual C++ | x64 | Download

After the update, restart your PC and try the Topaz installer again and it should work!
