Clean 3: Has anyone found a decent substitute for its skin-smoothing facility?
Hi Tom.
There isn’t a direct replacement in Topaz Studio because, Topaz Studio prioritizes natural image restoration over the old legacy stylized filters.
However, combining Wonder 3 with moderate Denoise Max strength comes closest to reproducing Clean 3’s signature smooth, vector-like aesthetic.
Face Recovery rebuilds and smooths skin tones intelligently while maintaining natural eye and mouth detail, replacing Clean 3’s manual skin-smoothing presets.
Hope this helps
@TomEvans - Do you have examples of the before/after results you can share? We have a few current options that could potentially help replicate the skin-smoothing results you’re looking for:
- Recover Faces : available in Topaz Photo, Topaz Gigapixel, and Topaz Image Web.
- Sharpen > Portrait : available in Topaz Photo.
- Face Detailer : available in Topaz Image Web.
- Bloom : available in Topaz Image Web and can generate/reconstruct additional details.
Which one would work best really depends on the original file and the specific look you’re trying to replicate. If you can share the untouched, unedited original along with an example of the Clean 3 result you’d like to reproduce, we can have a look and suggest the best option/workflow!
