Caution when using Sharpen AI with PS on Background Layer

Unlike other Topaz plugin products, Sharpen does not warn if you forget to duplicate your background layer…and it applies over the background layer.

That is strange. All the beta versions have displayed that warning. I have almost only used Sharpen AI as a Photoshop plugin.
