Brushes, Control Options

Topaz AI seems to get worse with new updates. How do I find the brushes that use to be there? Ive run a few recent images and have had to discard the results, close the program as unusable. Seriously, keeper rate is at a all time low. The program seems to get worse and the controls are poor at best.

The brushes are there. Click on Sharpening Subject, then Edit Subject. You then have the choice of the AI or Regular Brush. In my view, though, neither works as well as the brush in Topaz Sharpen AI!

Hey thanks, I’ll give it a try. I’m not sure what’s going on with this program but the keeper rate has gone down.

@marc.epstein-8086 Thanks for your feedback.

It’s definitely not our intention to get worse and worse. We may be experimenting with some things but please be assured our larger objective is to continue improving the app for our users.

Thanks for the reply. Many images have specular highlights that is over the top. Denoise not removing them, sharpening making it worse. Some images it works great but many are not keepers. I’m standing by and look forward to improvements. Appreciate your reply.

I still do not see the brushes? There is a tab for sharpening but not sharpening subject? Sharpening has a few options but no brushes? Please advise, tks

I’m using version 1.4.3. This is all I see on the right side:

What am I doing wrong?

I think your Autopilot settings need to be changed. You have probably got subject detection set to None. It needs to be one of the other settings.

Ok, that helped. I see the brushes now. Thanks for helping.

You’re welcome!

Clicking on Subject in the app means you can activate subject detection for the image and access the masking tools from there …

I can see the brushes now. When I go to edit, there is a blue mask over the subject and I cannot see to edit. How can I turn off the mask and make adjustments?
Thanks,
Marc

You can hit “subtract” and remove parts of the mask you don’t want.
