Users should be able to have control over what model versions they use as well as control over downloading the models for offline use.

Hear, hear! The rationale (sarcastically) was something like ‘People are too dumb to get the difference between models, so we will just select it for them.’ That is not necessarily untrue per se, but conflicts with their CLI policy, where you can use verify specific options. Either they should have dumbed it down altogether, or gone for power-user usage, and let people set their own paramaters.
To all those interested, the model manager is back in the current beta and should be available in the 4.0.7 release!
