If you look at the roofs of many buildings from the early Middle Ages you’ll find their construction is similar - an upturned boat on top of a wall because they knew how to build boats to cross from mainland Europe so used the old transport in a new venture = true recycling

It’s a Northumbrian herring boat. When the herring industry died out the upturned boats were turned into sheds.
