Like your choice of using selective color. The B&W PP applied to the background came out very well and the tones of the snow are great.

But, you did it very nicely with the BW effect to indicate the dreariness of the season, the 3D lighting of the snow to show depth (into the picture), and emphasizing the highlight directly in line with the Subject.
