AMD advertises PRO W6800 Graphics with TOPAZ LABS

AMD advertises with TOPAZ LABS:
Welcome To Exceptional Performance, AMD Radeon PRO W6800 Graphics.
"Lab tests with AMD Radeon PRO ™ W6800 confirm our mandate to minimize customers’ production time while accelerating video upscaling, denoising, deinterlacing and restoration of time-sensitive video content. "
Eric Yang, CEO, TOPAZ LABS

My question therefore:
Has anyone made comparisons between the new AMD Radeon PRO W6800 and other cards from Nvidia in the same price range?

I would like to assemble a new PC with a focus on Adobe Premiere CC2021, and especially VEAI for the many old videos since 1987 from VHS to DV.

Did you purchase a capture card yet? I’m looking to sell my VHS setup. I have a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR 2250 PCI-E card and a Sony SLV-675HF.

I also have the exact virtualdub settings for a really high quality lossless capture for this precise setup.

But he tested the card with a old version of gigapixel.

All analog original tapes VHS / SVHS / V8 / Hi8 are already digitized and stored, 1x on external HD’s and 1x on an 8x6TB Raid6 NAS.

The data is just waiting for me to adapt it to today’s viewing habits, 65 "screen with 4k :slightly_smiling_face:

Interesting. That review has Gigapixel on there, I wonder how Video Enhance does?
I guess the nearest competitor is the Nvidia A5000. The way I understand it is Video Enhance performance is in line with FP16 performance, so we’re talking W6800’s 35 TFLOPS vs the 27 TFLOPS of the A5000. AMD Pro GPUs will be likely be performant here as well.

Good to see both GPUs manufacturers recognising Topaz as a workload to enhance.

AMD itself compares it to the Quadro RTX 5000.

I think the A5000 is faster because of the Tensor cores.
