Just bought Topaz VAI, mainly to upscale and denoise CG renders from Blender, but I just threw in an old video of a helicopter trip over New York. The original footage is so shaky it’s unusable, and other stabilisation efforts just resulted in weird smeary video. Topaz pretty much nailed it first time! Looking forward to seeing what other magic this software can do…

Latest update is that the upscaling from Blender at 720p to 4K is pretty remarkable. I got a pretty clean output from Blender, but the upscaling looks great: sharp and noise-free. A few more tests needed, but I think I’ll just render at 720, save a bucket load of time and let Topaz upscale everything!
Also, I just tried upscaling in Apple Motion, and while the results aren’t bad, you do get aliasing, which you don’t using Topaz.
