AI Animation Upscaling and Slow Motion: Best Practices for 1024x768 to 4K

Hi

Anyone else working with Ai animation and uses Topaz for upscaling and slowmotion?
My workflow is to take 3 min animations 1024*768 and upscale + slowmotion 4x at once useing reah. But lately it the final images appers worse than before.
Is it better to seperate the improvemts, one by one, or use other models? Anyone want to share their workflow or similar experience ?

hard to say we can see whats worser than before. When I do slomo, then in a second turn, when upscale is done. But this has other reasons for me, since frame interpolation models can change getting better, I would like to have my upscaled sources not interpolated.

But all in one should not diminish the quality, when 2nd model is choosen in TVAI is supposed to happen internal with lossless codec, therefore results should be rather better than worser.

Which TVAI version you use? I only use the latest version for RheaXL, for everything else V5.3.6, primarily because of the VFR problem, but also because 5.3.6 is more convenient to use for me and has fewer bugs.

TVAI will always do the interpolation model first when doing interpolation and upscale at the same time, because it takes less processing time at the lower resolution. Interpolating second yields better quality though.
I think you should give Proteus a try. I never upscale to 4K, so I cannot give you any good settings to start with. (The 4X model gives different results than the 2X model that gets used in all my videos.)
