Zoom on mouse wheel scroll - Not working v7

Please bring back the mouse wheel ZOOM!

We have not removed mouse wheel zoom when viewing your image in Gigapixel. Are you not able to use your mouse wheel when viewing your images?

No, it stopped working right after I installed the v7… I am using Mac on Ventura.

The scroll on the mouse is not working anymore. I was trying everything, but nothing works. Even second mouse.

it seems to react on mouse wheel… but it just updates the “Preview”, but no change on the viewport.

You can see the screen recording of that activity here Screen Recording 2024-01-18...

Thank you for the video. Are you invoking Gigapixel from either Photoshop or Lightroom prior to the zoom conflict?

No, I am just running it normally as a standalone Application, than loading file.

So I did more investigation as I am still running version 6.x on my other computer (also Mac with Venture on it).

I was using this time touchpad and there was also a problem with zooming in and out. Same problem as with the mouse wheel.

This is a screencast from version 6.x › Screen Recording 2024-01-18...
It goes smoothly just by using 2 fingers and moving them UP and DOWN on the touchpad. You don’t need to pinch with 2 fingers on the touchpad or anything similar.

This one is from 7.x › Screen Recording 2024-01-18...
This one doesn’t work with 2 fingers and moving UP or DOWN… instead, it moves the canvas/viewport… I need to pinch with 2 fingers to get zoom working. So there is a difference in both versions of the application. Something is wrong in v7.x

Both MACs are the same setup, I am using them in the same way… no change in OS settings (touchpad, mouse, or anything like accessibility).

Thank you for the research.

I’ve raised this concern to our developers for further investigation and I’ll be sure to update you as soon as more information is gained.

Could you tell me what type of mouse has caused this conflict?

Also, the results from your trackpad use are expected. Please see the Apple Documentation below:

This is happening with:

  • Macbook Pro M1 touchpad
  • Macbook Air M2 touchpad
  • Logitech MX Master
  • Logitech MX Master S3 for Mac

Regarding the touchpad functionality — question remains why version 6.x works different on same platform as version 7.x?

I went back to 6.x and it works like charm now… on any mouse and any touchpad and any mac

Our development team have replicated this issue, thank you for bringing it to our attention. If you have the Logi Options+ application installed? If so, removing this will resolve the issue.

Our team is working on a fix that will allow the Logi Options+ application to remain enabled.

Well I cannot remove Logi Options+ btw same problem happens also on touchpad as I mentioned above. So the bug persist on Apple devices.

Our developers are aware of the issue you have raised and are investigating further. Thank you for bringing this to our attention

I have the same issue with Topaz Photo AI (v 3.1.0). I cannot remove Logi Options. When will this be fixed?

I’d recommend reaching out on the Photo AI Bugs and Issues forum rather than Gigapixel
