Hello everyone, I’m looking to buy a PC to run Topaz Video AI. I’m in doubt between a Dell XPS with an i7 14700 + 32GB RAM + GTX 4060 or a Mac Mini M4 with 24GB RAM. Does anyone have any idea where the performance would be better? Thanks in advance.
Hi, Comparing the benchmarks on here, a standard 4060 is faster than a Mac mini with M4 Pro in every test, and much faster for Iris. In general, unless you’re already a Mac user or particularly want a Mac for other reasons, I would discourage everyone from getting a new Mac for TVAI. They aren’t the best combination in terms of price and performance.

If you would like to take a look at the benchmark results from other users that Andy referenced you can go to the benchmark page and that might help with your decision.
Below is a copy and paste of two benchmarks to compare.
You might want to consider the possibility of buying 2 x base M4 Mac minis, given how small they are, and that a TVAI licence allows you to run on two machines at the same time. That would actually work out cheaper than the Dell XPS with 4060 and mostly better overall performance than the Dell. I thought it only fair to point that out for completeness.

Thanks Andy, I’m a newbie using a MacBook Air M1 for TVAI.
I live in Brazil and here the prices of the machines I mentioned are similar. So I’ll buy the Dell for TVAI and virtual machines too.
