Workflow Improvement | Remove Tool

I’d suggest to use the remove tool before any other filters are applied.
Especially for the upscaling this is counter productive in the current order as the remove tools mask is limited to 2000pix for high quality inpainting and in general seems to work better on not so high res material.

So blowing up the images pixel count in front of removing objects is a bad idea and I find myself constantly disabling all filters, doing the remove then save in a first step and load the image again to the upscale /sharpen/denoisei in a second TPAI step.

If the remove tool could snap in before those enhancements are done this would surely make up for a better workflow.

When the Remove tool is used, sometimes it works very well and sometimes it doesn’t.

When it doesn’t, I think we could reduce the chance of missing the mark by a lot if we could lead the removal process.

It’s painting, but without any control. Trying to remove people, or part of them sticking out on a picture, will result in replacing them with someone else.

We could direct the removing process by using some keywords describing what should be behind the removed element. With a slider of 1 to 100. 1 would let Photo AI do its thing alone, and 2-100 would give more weight to the keywords describing what should replace the selected element.

Thanks for the idea and suggestion! Make sure that you do not forget to vote for your idea

All,
I am having very good results - in some cases spectacular - with a project to scan old negatives of people. Mold is typically the issue I am correcting. Hair is a strong point for Photo AI and it does a remarkably good job there.
What I see needing improvement is skin areas near the eyes, nose, and mouth. If the area to remove is close to those features, it tends to “meld” the eye, nose, or corners into the area needing to be removed. If this can be addressed the remove function will be truly killer. If you would like samples, I can send them. Thank you! Bill Kennon, billkennon@outlook.com
