Subject: Comparison between Gigapixel and Recraft Results
Dear Topaz Team,
Yesterday, I purchased Gigapixel 8.1.0 and installed it today. After just one test, I was quite surprised by the results. Prior to this, I had been using a software called Recraft, which has a feature called Creative Upscale.
I conducted a comparison test between the two softwares, and unfortunately, I must inform you that the results from Recraft are significantly better than those from Gigapixel. I have attached the original file, along with the results from both Recraft and Gigapixel, for you to review the difference.
I am very disappointed with the results from Gigapixel 8.1.0, particularly regarding the processing time and the enlarged file size. Despite using the most optimized settings in Gigapixel, the results are truly unsatisfactory.
I would greatly appreciate it if you could explain the reason behind this performance difference.
When I full scale an image I would expect an upscaled version of the image, not a different image. that looks mostly similar. The recraft image has changed the bedding, the carpet the item on the bed etc…
Creative Upscale relies on generative AI. For generative AI in Gigapixel, consider using the recovery or redefine model.
The standard, high fidelity, low resolution, etc., methods are traditional GAN-based image upscaling techniques. They are fast and require less processing power, making them ideal for users with low-end PC/GPU specifications. While they can enhance image quality by fixing compression artifacts, they are unable to generate new information that was not present in the original image.
I’m not the owner of Recraft , I’m a new user who expects see something amazing from Gigapixel based on your way how you introduce this software’s! I pay expensive prices because I trust the advertising, finally as a new user I was disappointed , as expert designer, Gigapixel is not yet ready for professional, maybe need more advanced technology to developed and make it interesting for professional users !

Congratulations, you have successfully redecorated the room and redesigned the doors with generative AI.
I hope you can get another international award for that.
I personally would have suggested to recraft the pillows into blue ones though, and to add a few more flowers to the stucco on the ceiling as well as installing round door handles maybe… but I’m no senior designer with international awards of course.

Well you’re the emotional one who wrote:

I merely replied that you were using Recraft to redecorate and redesign not to upscale in a way that’s true to the original image.
If you paid more attention to detail you should have noticed how much Recraft altered the entire room, including bedding, stucco, doors, the balcony with a completely broken view on the city and a flying flower, adding some weird fake mesh type of air vents to the stucco on the walls and on and on and on.
If your goal is to redesign a room with AI, sure then Recraft or Gigapixel’s redefine and recovery modes may be a great choice, but the results are extremely flawed as I pointed out and just going by the images you posted Gigapixel’s results are much less broken and much more usable.
I am also pretty certain you could achieve significantly better results than you produced with Gigapixel if you tweaked the settings and carefully compared the different model results.
I’m just surprised really that a senior designer didn’t notice these very obvious image flaws in the Recraft result with significant alterations to the displayed room and objects, especially when considering that the original image shows bedding worth hundreds and hundreds of dollars compared to the recraft result showing bedding, carpentry, and lamps of a cheap mass production quality typical to stores like Ikea or Wayfair etc.
