Hey Guys, this is my first time here in the forums.
I have been using Gigapixel for a couple of years now, off and on, mostly to enlarge and enhance artwork and a few photos. So, today I decided to see if Gigapixel could help me restore a few family photos.
I had some pretty good results, especially with the face enhancement, but I realized that I really don’t know my way around this program very well. It just isn’t that intuitive to me. But, I really ran into a roadblock when I tried using the Generative Models. First off, once I selected “recover” under the generative models, I couldn’t figure out what I could adjust next. Nothing seemed to make a difference on the photo. Obviously, I need some help.
Can anyone guide me to a video or tutorial covers using the Generative Models and making adjustments.
Finally, I chose recover > preview entire image …and it’s telling me it will take 203 minutes to render.
Yikes.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
The extremely long/ never ending processing times of the generative models are exactly the reason why I for now and for the most part simply reverted to using Gigapixel AI 7.4.4 which is the last version to offer the “recovery speed” model.
For me personally with the current laptop I am using, the “speed mode” offered in this older beta version of the recovery model typically produces the best results at very reasonable processing times.
Even the previews for the recovery and redefine models in Gigapixel 8 already take forever to process and the preview results aren’t even exactly reliable previews for using credits on the cloud render feature.
I’ve suggested the recovery speed model from 7.4.4 to be brought back as one of the legacy model options, but so far that suggestion seems to have fallen on def ears with the developers.
The new Generative AI Performance is very much based on your own system setup CPU, GPU, VRAM and so on… unless you use the Topaz Cloud Service in which case you’ll need to purchase Credits more information below
