I want to rent a GPU server by the hour to crunch a large video that would cost me $1500 do do in their own cloud environment, and I can’t afford that.
If I rent a server with Windows server, will the app install?
The app was not designed to be fully compatible with Windows Server setups in this manner. However, there have been some users who has done it with some tweaks but they have not shared details for anyone to copy it.
We do not officially support VM setups in this way with the licensing structure of the app at this time.
Thanks for the info Kyle. I might give it a test on Azure if I can get a quota request approved and spun up. Azure seems to be the only place you can spin up easily without extra cost for Windows. I found some other places, but you have to pay for a months worth of Windows server at a minimum on top of the hourly cost, which makes paying just to test a bit more difficult. Really looking for a way to utilise Starlight mini a s slightly more cost effective and efficient way on beefy hardware as it seems so promising
