Why is there a video AI but no sound quality enhancement model? For video, there is both picture and sound quality. Why is there no AI for sound quality?
The dev team has not added in any feature to work with the audio portion of the file at this time. This would be something that could be looked at for future inclusion though.
There are 2 simple reasons why :
First : It’s almost impossible to do this. If you find an app. that claim to do that, it will lie
Sampling methods, channeling, dynamic objects are very complex and subjective
A sharp image is a sharp image, eos.
Second : Allmost all good AVR has a chipset that easily upsacle audio content
DD2.0 → DD2.0 surround
DD5.1 → DD TrueHD → Atmos
DTS → DTS-HDMA → DTS-X
DTS-HDMA → DTS-X
For sure you’ll not get the exact quality you can expect from DTS-X or Atmos, but it’s very valuable for the bucks
As 90% of people don’t have the speakers to shape the difference from interpolated DTS-X from true DTS-X, this is pointless.
A side note. DTS Neural:X Upmixer and Dolby Surround Upmixer (Those in modern AVRs) do not upmix Compressed audio to a none compressed Audio (e.g. DD+ → TrueHD / DTS → DTSHD-MA). they only upmix to multi channels for playback.
e.g. 2Ch → Multi Ch and also can use ceiling speakers such as top middle speakers to realize a three-dimensional sound field.
But they don’t touch the bitrate.
I always add that any such audio enhancement model would be pointless without committing to supporting DTS and Dolby input and output formats. That will make the cost of the product increase quite a bit.
Wrong and right. Even if they don’t upscale the bitrate, they do handle the change more that rawly copying then to other.
They handle reverb and emulation depending on type of sound that “sould” fit better on front, sides, depth (front/behond) height (Atmos Neural)
like I said, channel separation, multi channel, etc. it does.
but it doesn’t do compressed to none compressed (e.g. DD/+ vs. TrueHD, DTS vs. DTSHD/MA), like you posted above.
