Why does the latest Video AI not display render progress?

I have been using Video AI beta v.6 for about a week and it no longer displays the render progress. Because of this it isn’t clear whether manual enhancements have been applied.

Earlier versions of Video AI do not have this issue: the green render progress displays, and the UI signals when pre-renders have finished. This begs the questions has Video AI beta been released just to promote Project Starlight, and once the “free” credits are complete the app cannot be used for standard enhancement work?

The team is looking into some reports of issues with preview renders and the progress bars not showing correctly.

The beta releases are for testing new features and patches that the team are working to include in the next full release. At times this does have issues still in the works.

Project Starlight is in the early stages of release and will continue to be worked on going forward but this will not change how the app operates. Nor will it remove the local processing workflow for users.

To use the app there is not a need to have credits or use the cloud processing workflow, these are only needed at this time for access to Project Starlight.

Hello Kyle,
Thank you for responding to my post. To date I have no idea how to operate Video AI V.6.1 Beta. Indeed, each time I wish to use the app I need to go back to V.5, which is slow and after three years still drops the last frame on ProRes renders. As a product developer it may please you to hear I use this app weekly. However, having to return to an earlier version of VAI for clarity makes a mockery of paying a yearly update subscription fee.

Topaz Labs’ recent YouTube publicity for Video AI V.6 Beta features the V/O of a young woman enthusiastically selling VAI’s overhauled UI. Your salesperson gives no convincing explanation why TL habitually keep changing the UI, other than offering the standard marketing assurance, ‘You asked for it’. I see no reason why the app’s changing models cannot be integrated in to previous, less convoluted UI.
