I have a 40 minute file that was recenly up-ressed through Topaz from SD interlaced to HD Artemus progressive. I’m now processing that file to 4K Proteus. First info said that this would take one day, 14 hours. Fine. But as I’ve been going back to check occassionally the screen is continously paying the whole video in real time as the up-ressing is going. Why? The blue processing line at the bottom seems to be moving at a rate consistent with the time the app said it would take for full processing. I never did any previewing before I began and on the screen the Preview window says “not procesed”. I’m quite confused. I sure don’t want to wait that one day 14 hours (now one day 10 hours) and find that the result isn’t my file up-ressed to 4K. if anyone can explain what’s going on I’d much apprecaite that. My Topaz Viedo Ai is ver.5.0.4.
It sounds like you have the preview option turned on in the Preferences Panel, and the app is playing the video as it buffers/renders it out. Can you share a screenshot of what you are seeing here, or send it to the support team directly? help@topazlabs.com
Thanks for the reply. I didn’t see anyplace to post a screen grab on this chat page so I assume you are meaning that I post it to the Topaz help site. I’ll do that, along with a copy of my message above. Thanks.
Just posted my problem with screen grab to the help@topazlabs.com site. Just got an automated reply saying: “This is an automated response. Monday, March 2-- Our help desk platform, Help Scout, is experiencing intermittent outages due to the AWS outages. Our team is currently unable to review or reply to tickets. We will be in touch as soon as possible.”
Any chance you could post some kind of rsponse to this page so I can decide if I should abort my present up-ressing rather than let it process for another day plus.

Hello again. In case it helps here is the message I posted with ecreen grab to help@topazlabs.com.
Hi.
I just received a reply to the message below that I posted on the Topaz Video Ai chat room. The sender asked me to post a screen grab of my screen displaying the problem I describe below. That screen grab is attached at the bottom of this message.
I have a 40 minute file that was recently up-ressed through Topaz from SD interlaced to HD Artemus progressive. I’m now processing that file to 4K Proteus. First info said that this would take one day, 14 hours. Fine. But as I’ve been going back to check occasionally the screen is continuously paying the whole video in real time as the up-ressing is going. Why? The blue processing line at the bottom seems to be moving at a rate consistent with the time the app said it would take for full processing. I never did any previewing before I began and on the screen the Preview window says “not processed”. I’m quite confused. I sure don’t want to wait that one day 14 hours (now one day 10 hours) and find that the result isn’t my file up-ressed to 4K. if anyone can explain what’s going on I’d much appreciate that. My Topaz Video Ai is ver.5.0.4.
I note in this message that I had not activated preview before I began processing the file. That is true. I had done that earlier when I first loaded this file. After previewing a second of it and deciding that Proteus 4K would be an improvement I noticed i had some setting wrong so closed the program and started the process again, this time not doing any previewing. I mention this just in case for some reason Topaz has a memory of that first preview of that file and that some how is responsible for what’s happening now. Hope that makes some sense.
Hi. I’ve aborted the process. Though the time line bottom screen still said it was processing at 3440X2160 the Output setting top right suddenly changed to 1920X1080. It had said that when A screen was selected but now it would say that when B screen was selected too.
Starting a new process going the screen at bottom says it will take 41 hours to process. Doesn’t that seem a lot to upress a 40 minute progressive HD film to 4K?
