You tweak this and that, but no attention to truly important aspects…copying settings surely apply here…
The time for praise is over…now nothing but criticisms are needed – Photo AI actually degrades a lot of what it touches – software needs to be “taught” what not to touch – for example, if you have a “pretty sharp” detail of some sort, Topaz will make sure it ends up with fairly severe “jaggies”…leaving original superior over the “enhanced” version…
If the aim was to improve and automate simultaneously, that has, so far, failed miserably…
Hi – …well, yes, I have seen that and thought, OK! – …only to discover that if I wanted to “save”, the setting would be applied to ALL images I happened to have open – that is, “lined up” below the “active image” window above…I can save only a few images, but, the settings I wanted to apply only to those few pictures, would be applied to the entire line of images I had waiting for adjustments…
In frustration (and it is very frustrating to use Photo AI), I tried ON1, which has a more gentle way of sharpening, but is also frustrating in other ways (the entire interface, etc, I only want to use it for sharpening and perhaps resizing)…but ON1 does have an explicit “copy settings” – “paste settings” mechanism, much like DxO Photolab…
…and since you replied…the auto subject recognition feature, when processing simple objects against clean backgrounds, is inexcusably poor in my opinion…like I said in my post – you have the selection given to you right from the image file (when subject/object is sufficiently contrasted in at least one channel…)
Photo AI works well as long as you don’t use it for “civilizational images”…such as nature scenes and animals etc…
I am surprised by all this, since Topaz has such a long history of being an important “player” together with Photoshop…
Thank you for replying though…
