When saving the arrow keys are controlling the timeline instead of the save dialog

When saving the arrow keys are controlling the timeline instead of the save dialog.

In macOS choose Save As. If you use the arrow keys to change filename they continue to move the playhead in the timeline.

The expected behaviour is that the save dialog should be accepting input.

Can you please share a screen recording? I am not clear on this behavior.

Oftentimes it is easiest to share a screen recording for issues like this to quickly show me exactly what is happening. I use Loom for screen recordings since this is a free and easy to use app.

I have this issue also. In Mac OS Monterey, behavior the same on an Intel Mini and a M2 MacBook Air.

Please share a screen recording

Hi, Ida - Using Mail Drop due to file size.

Two video files attached, both screen grabs from my MacBook Air M2. The cursor behavior is the same on my Mac Mini Intel. Both machines on Monterey with all updates, running VAI 3.3.0.

The “Correct…” video shows the Save dialog box opening up and cursor placement in the filename text line. I then used arrow right to move the cursor to the right in the text box, which action you’ll see.

The “VAI…” video shows the “Export As” dialog box opening, and cursor placement in the filename text line. When I use the arrow right key, the cursor does not move, but you can see the image frames advance behind the dialog box.

Regards,

Michael

This is perfect! I was misunderstanding your experience and this screen recording allowed me to see what is happening and quickly reproduce it.

Now we are aware of this issue and will be looking into a fix!
