Definitely a 4090 GPU. You won’t regret it. Topaz apps need it. Can’t give a hint for the CPU though. :slight_smile:

Hands off Intel, specially the overtuned i9 K ones. 7950x is fastest, but 9950x is Xen5 architecture and not much behind, means depends on applications, is one in front or the other. If you don’ like water cooling (like me), the 7950X3D (120W TDP) has the best power consumption/perfomance ratio and the CPU can be cooled well and quietly with a good air cooler like Noctua, the CPU is almost on the level of a 9950x

…And the AMD 7950X3D and their 9950X add a point of pain with their potential to park half the cores seemingly randomly in the name of gaming performance.

To avoid that, go with the 7950X or the 7900X. If you can find a 9800X for less than any of the 7000 series CPUs, go for it. They run about the same.

If you don’t want to spend so much money on a GPU, the 4070 Ti Super is pretty good. I have an RTX 3080 ti and it’s really good. Honestly, if you just want to get okay speed, the RTX 3060 ti is perfect. (Not the RTX 4060s though, they are not better than the 3060s.)
