What Changed?

I am an occasional user of Topaz Video. I make music videos of my songs about every 6 months using Final Cut and a Mac Pro book with and M3 and 8G ram. Without any problems in the past I was able to upgrade the final master to 4k with Topaz and then I put it on YouTube. Now it errors out on the export and when I contacted support they said I need more Ram.

I thought running the older version again might fix the problem so I downloaded version 6 again and it errored out and still needed more memory then I when to version 5 same thing “Not Enough Memory! Something changed with Topaz in the last 6 months so that I can no longer use this program on my Mac book!

I can and have been using the cloud service as a replacement but it seems really expensive to a home user. Tweaking another pass for my music video can cost $10 - $20 of tokens.

Anyone know any solution other than buying another computer ? Like I said this system worked fine in the past but something has changed with Topaz.

Can you share the logs with the support team for review into what error message you are getting and what is going on?

An M3 with only 8GB of RAM is below the requirements for the app to run even in the older releases. While it can run the app it will struggle at times. Also, if you have updated the OS to 26 that could be part of the issue, as the older Video AI app was not updated to be fully compatible since it was discontinued.

Thank you for answering my question. That makes sense! I really like Topaz but don’t know what I’ll do at this point. I appreciate your response.
