VMWARE Workstation Users

Is there anyone who has Video AI working with the GPU in a VMWARE Workstation environment?

All the other Topaz products (i.e. Denoise, Gigapixel, Sharpen, etc.) works with VMWARE Workstation Driver running under windows and DirectX using the GPU, but not Video AI.

Video AI is only using the CPU, is not recognizing the GPU at all.

Any feedback would be great to have.

It is quite possible to use modern graphics card under VMware as a passthru (aka “DirectPath I/O”) device, but that may be a bit out of the scope of this site. A proper VMware forum is likely to give you tons of answers about it.

VMWARE Workstation does not support pass-thru devices – you have to use a dedicated VMWARE Host in order to use pass-thru “DirectPath I/O”.

I’m curious why the other Topaz Products are picking up the GPU and this one does not.

Ah, yes, workstation. My bad.
