I have set the preferences to 1 process, low power and 10% of memory but it still crashes on trying to upscale a 1080p video to 4K.
I have 32Gb of memory and a 2.9GHz 6 core Intel machine and am using an eGPU AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT 8 GB.
Please, provide more information: hardware/OS platform. Drivers versions. Etc.
According my experience most of eGPU issues related to hardware/driver support and not to software uses it.

It seems there is the issue repeatly reported by Mac users. Dig in reddit “eGPU” community for details.
It is importatnt to provide your eGPU type and manufacture to community for relevant replies.
Crash definitely nort related to TVAI.
Hi there! Did you find any solution to this? I recently got an AMD 6800XT with Chroma X eGPU for my 27" iMac, and while every other graphic software works fine, Topaz (the main reason I got this setup) is crashing on me as well! Sometimes it freezes right away or it renders for about 15 min and my computer just reboots.
I did lower the memory usage and all those options but nothing. Now thinking if it’s the software or perhaps the card needs a firmware update?
thanks, I did… I can see people were having issues. Unfortunately I don’t have a Windows so I can’t go into custom settings to adjust the drivers. But also, the crash only happens with Topaz not any other software.
I think I’ll just return all this setup and save for an M3 Apple later this year lol.
