I did some upscales back in January, and then another batch last month (using the latest Video AI available at the time). I am now noticing that, even though no frame rate change was being done (no _chm or _apo in the filename), VAI is inserting inbetween frames between many scene changes. These are not present in the original file.
This problem was only just noticed when going through the video. Is this expected behavior? Can it be turned off?
This was one on the PC version of VAI and conversions have been done to thd, prob and maybe some others, exporting to ProRes 422 HQ.
Can you reach out to our support team and share one of the export files? You can securely submit your file(s) to our Dropbox using the link below. Please be sure to send me a note to let me know you sent something. Submit File to Dropbox
I would love to do that. I tried earlier (having contacted you folks many times over the past few years), but I didn’t find the “Chat” I normally use to submit tickets, or a web page. It was all different and I gave up and just posted here.
And file submitted. I sent a series of images. The first shows a frame before a transition. After the transition, you can see the outline of the previous image on it. This happens for 1 or 2 frames, as if it’s blending.
The second shows that the converted image is 2 frames SHORTER than the source, which may be the blended frames.
Support is looking in to this. Early on, I converted a clip using all of the AI methods. Apparently only the THEAI (thd and thf) are doing it, currently.
