VIDEO AI - CLOUD RENDERING - COST CREDIT

Hi,

I wanted to try the CLOUD service for Topaz video. I work a lot with VR360 videos in 8K (7680x3840 at 30FPS). I tried submitting a 60-second video with denoising, and the number of credits required is enormous over 15,000! :money_mouth_face:

This is a huge bug or a joke ?

What you complaining about… that would only cost you about $4000

But seriously I don’t know who priced this - they must be taking the piss. You could literally build a complete PC with 2x 4090 GTX’s for that… and then render as much as you want ad-infinitum… (not just 18 minutes worth!)

Likely overpriced by a factor of 100, if not more

This looks to be an error, can you send the logs to the support team at help@topazlabs.com so they can pull the cloud request ID number to investigate.

To gather logs, please select Help > Logging > Get Logs for Support and attach the zip file to your reply.

Just spoke with the team and they have updated the system and adjusted how the cloud was evaluating and pricing videos. It should be good to go if you would like to try running that clip again.

Hello Topaz team,

Thanks for your feedback, it work now !
I did a new test with a ā€œnormalā€ prices with 116 credits

BUT your upload server isn’t good enough …

  • 37 minutes for upload 14Go video in QT422 8K with a limitation at max 40Mb/s (my internet connexion can upload up to 900Mb/s
  • 17 minutes for process the vidĆ©o
  • 30 sec for download the result
    Total: 55 minutes

My PC with a RTX 3090 did the job in 42 min at 0,7Frame/s
My Macbook M1 MAX did the job in 67 min at 0,4Frame/s

So i’m a little bit disapointed by the processing time because of your upload speed :frowning:
I will be forced to encode my media in H265 and reduce the size to use your CLOUD.

Thanks

How does the current pricing make sense?
I filmed a 6:06 minute 5.3K video on a GoPro 10. The resulting file was 2.71 GB.
I ran the file thru video AI to downsize to 4K, sharpen, and remove noise. Video AI did a nice job.
The job took 4 hours on a 12 core AMD CPU, 64 GB’s of RAM, Nvdia 4070 12GB GPU resulting in a 13.3 GB file.
I clicked on the cloud option, it said the job would be done in 16 minutes, and would cost 802 credits.
The one time purchase for 1000 credits was $158.

Is there really a market for $158 fast renders?

I don’t think so.
Likely this is the reason why we recently have been ā€žgiftedā€œ with Starlight

(And even there for that price the results would have to be absolutely stunning- which they’re not.

I see this as no replacement it’s a premium product for those who have a video that is so valuable to them, the cost is secondary. So the following would perhaps fits to this: Automatically re-rendering happens of your already uploaded video, when Topaz Labs made sigificant improvements on the Starlight model, then you get notified and you can download the better version of your video.
