Video AI 5.3.6 Crashes and then restarts in Trial Mode

  1. The bug / behavior you have encountered
    After processing two or three videos successfuly Video AI crashes. Sometimes it destroys the task it was working on, sometimes it is completed. When I restart Video AI it is in Trial Mode and I have to Activate it again.

The logs you attached do not show a failure or the app crashing. Do you have more logs to share or can you upload the full zipped folder for review?

Are you running your system overclocked in any way?

Thanks for looking at this.
I’m uploading a zipped copy of the Log Folder and have included a set of event errors from the Windows event viewer which might explain the activation issue.
The system is running at default values apart from the XMP for the Crucial ram.

Can you send the full system profile as well? That should show some of the crash errors at the bottom of it and what app is causing it.

I have seen several users having issues from an ASUS app that is causing crashes. See if that helps or if you are seeing that issue as well.

Thanks, I am seeing the AsusSystemAnalysis.exe causing issues at the bottom of the report.

Let me have you try clearing that app and/or making sure it is turned off and see if that resolves your issue.

Ok, I’ve gone into Task Manager and selected End Task on it. There’s a lot of Asus services there as part of AI Suite 3. I’m wondering If that is incompatible with Video AI, now, although I have been running these together without any problems for the last two years.

The bug has settled down now to be managable as long as I respond to the end of each task quickly enough. However, it has taken to inserting a ‘_1’ into the filename of completed exports - as if it has restarted the task at some point without saving the first attempt.
