On the Computer Ram or GPU Ram?

DDR4, therefore the CPU RAM
Your Intel is DDR4, right? not 5?
You have a ton of it and your performance is very good, so I’m wondering about the impact of the amount of RAM and/or its speed and latency.
It is impossible to know or understand the amount of RAM required for models. It’s a roll of the dice…

I have DDR5 ram. I will check out the performance and get back with you.

DDR5 strength is its bandwidth, such a program would rather be happy with low latencies.
I did change bandwidth to latency on AMD plateform, as usual huge gain.

not sure? in somethings I am cpu bound but not sure if it is worth it yet… may be more tempted if I see future 5090 benchmarks between people with different CPUs and I see that upgrading the CPU would also cause uplift.

It turned completely nut above 2/3 GPUs …
(ok, I’m not that skilled with TR on X399, but still… Here is the real power that this thing can bring out)

  • No PCIE bandwidth issue, I measured from 7% to 30%
  • CPU is misteriously loaded @ 50% all teh time, that 32 cores do twice the job my 3900X does, but in true life that 2990WX blows my 3900X

Cinebench 2024, the famous one ! Ok it’s not specialized with AI nor use of Tensor shaders but see the galaxy between TVAI multi and this one.
