The 4070 Super is looking quite good here, except for the 4x values. But there it might be the “only” 12 GB RAM or even some kind of CPU / system RAM limitation.

Yes, it’s completely unusable, but at least now the other modes don’t crash all the time. It’s sad that last year they made so much hype for Intel Arc and Topaz also proudly stood by them with many YouTube influencers and a year and a half later the card can’t even reach the level it should be at (3060 for example…). I know it’s not Topaz’s fault, but still, I expected at least 6-7 fps in 2x proteus 1080p.

Thank you for the intel arc numbers. They look quite competitive compared to 4070. Have you tried upscaling fhd to 4k using gaia by any chance? Is the real world performance at all comparable to the benchmarks?

I’d like to make an observation. I’ve tried running topaz on a 4080, 4080s and 7900xtx. the 7900xtx significantly underperformed benchmark numbers. On the machine that I used with a 12900ks and 32gb ddr5 ram, I got about 4.9fps on a real world fhd to 4k upscale with 7900xtx. The 4080 got about 5.5fps, and the 4080s got 5.7fps. All were using the latest drivers. Yet, the benchmarks showed higher numbers for 7900xtx. The testing from techpowerup kinda reflects this – 7900xtx has similar performance to a 4070 ti super.

Hello, real world performance: Proteus 1080 2x is 2,8 fps, and Gaia HQ is 3,8 fps.

The Radeon card doesn’t have a Tensor RT either, Nvidia takes much better care of AI than AMD, brute force doesn’t help either, but I’m happy where the xtx ends up.

that’s a really good result for gaia. that’s about as good as the 3080ti in one of my machines. 3080ti uses 1.5x power too. proteus on the other hand is quite a bit worse. i might have to look into getting this card. i do alot of fhd to 4k using gaia. price to perform definitely makes sense for this particular use case if your numbers are correct

Worst cable design in GPU history!

I have not had any issues so far with the one I linked (knock on wood).

Hard for me to decide at the moment.

Only TVAI and Resolve are the Apps that are very demanding, all other apps could it even do with slower GPUs.

The uplift from XTX to 90 is around 60% in TVAI and 13% with resolve (until you add some filters).

I like to do a lot of experiments, so maybe 4090 would be better, and it has ECC too.
