so on my computer i have been using version 3.1.1 and its given me no problems . i recently upgraded to version 4.0.5 the newest release and on a hd video to 4k conversion i created a 10 second preview and it said 9 hours . didnt seem right but i left the machine and went to bed and just checked it and now its saying 9 hours. ive also tried doing a regular convert instead of doing a preview and it says 4 days . i let it run for 2 days and no temp file is produced and then it crashes. any info on where i should start to trouble shoot this ?

I think your going to need to select the 3060 gpu in the preferences, rather than rely on auto selection.
You’re on a laptop. I think you have to force it to use the 3060 in the Nvidia control panel. (That’s what I had to do on my laptop with a GT 425… 10 years ago… on other applications…)
