What exactly is very slow?
And what do you mean by slow, how long does the operation take?
The performance is fully OK here on a MacBook Pro with M1 Pro…
Slow is „very“ slow. No reaction at all. 5 minutes only for the window „about“ (version).
It’s not frozen. It seems to work but to show one jpg picture you have to wait 20 minutes
There is something wrong with your setup/install.
On the i9 this awkward performance maybe possible but surely not on the M1.
I can not use on both systems. I have Re installed with no change.
Hmm, although this is a very unusual advise for MacOS systems I’d suggest doing a clean reinstall of MacOS (without restoring TimeMachine backup) and see if there’s the issue as well.

Just to set that straight: of course you should do an actual TimeMachine (or other) backup - just not restore it as this can create some problems, especially if the backup primarily came from a non Apple Silicon /Intel system.
Had some quirks due to this myself…

I have the same problem. it doesn’t even start. Mac i5, Sonoma 14.1.2.
Same problem here, brand new installed Mac mini M2 pro 16 GB Sonoma 14.1.2, after latest Topaz update problems with clicking any button and when the picture appears i can’t change anything in the settings.
