I suddenly have identical problem. I had not updated anything. I had three updates available, which I have installed, but they did not address the issue. Very frustrated. Also frustrated how this community system works. All the little icons are not intuitive.
This started happening to me randomly today. Any solutions?
I’m trying out 8.0.2 (owned older version) and have this inversion issue in one JPEG low-res image.
But the same image opens fine in Photo AI 3.3.3 (maybe that’s why I only keep renewing that license 
).
Same issue here. Using 8.0.3.
I ran into the same problem this week even after reinstalling the program… It seems like the problem is CMYK color space for me. Anytime I open a CMYK image I have this problem, but no issue with RGB. Check your image’s color space and see if that helps.
