V1.10.4 Issues with Batch Processing (Rendering)

@KevinZou for your attention

Hi Kevin,

Seems to be issues with the Batch Processing results vs those ‘saved as’ from the File menu. Checked both and the Color Spaces are sRGB but you can see there is a marked difference in the image saved in the “Save as” (top) and “Batch” bottom (a single Impression Preset): (view full size)

Hello AiDon,

Thanks reporting this issue. What is the batch File Saving settings that you used? Did you uncheck “Apply to Raw files only” checkbox? and also what is the Image Quality level you choose? I know that you used the sRGB color profile.

Also, what is source image’s format, what Save As (Export) options that you used? What Impression preset did you use for the result?

Thanks,
Kevin

Sorry the Forum is having problems … can’t quote or upload: (OK back again)

  • Settings were default panel options
  • Didn’t bother to uncheck the “Apply to RAW files only” as there are no RAW files in the directory
  • Image quality was the default Maximum

The Impression preset was a preset I had created and was migrated from V2 to Studio.

We have ran many tests using Impression preset, and have not yet re-produce the rendering issue that you reported. We will keep trying, thanks for the info.

Best Regards,
Kevin

Hello AiDon,

Could you please do this comparison test?

  1. Use Save As (sRGB color profile, Maximum Image Quality) to save the result;
  2. In Batch processing, uncheck “Apply to Raw files Only” checkbox, and select JPEG (sRGB color profile, and Maximum Image Quality), and batch the same file.

The reason for the rendering issue is probably because of the different color space conversion in the two cases. In the Save As case, it is converted to sGBR, and in your batch case, since the Save File options did not apply, the file is saved using whatever the color profile embedded with the source image.

Thanks,
Kevin

Hello AiDon,

We have re-produced the problem, and this is not a Batch Processing specific issue. You can re-produce this issue with the regular Save As. The problem is caused by the random seed for brush positions in Impression. The same image processed with same Impression preset at a two different sessions will have slightly different look due to the randomness of the brushes. This is an known issue, and we have it in our BUG list but not yet resolved.

Thank you so much for reporting this issue.

Best Regards,
Kevin
