Gigapixel AI has a 0.5x Scale button which is quite useful in my workflow for downsizing photos. Photos AI does not have this button. It’s possible to change the scaling factor to 0.5x or anything else, but this requires extra keystrokes, which adds up when going through hundreds or thousands of photos. I would love to be able to just click a button to downscale a photo by half, just like I can do in Gigapixel AI.
We didn’t include downscaling options because we want people to use the Filter how it was meant- to upscale. What are the cases in which you want to downscale an image?
Lots of reasons to downsize, such as using on websites and sharing on social media. As I pointed out, Gigapixel AI has a 0.5x Scale button, so someone at some time must have thought it was useful.
