At present, if I have an anamorphic source and wish to upscale it from 4:3 PAL to 16:9 FHD, I have to first rescale the clip in another app before upscaling in Topaz because the options are only Pillarbox/Letterbox or Crop to Fill. An additional option to resize without letterbox or crop would be extremely useful.

If you select “custom resolution” you can scale without applying a letterbox or crop, and convert to square pixels at the same time if you wish.

“square pixels” is only available into Topaz when it’s anamorph, when a DAR in the container is set correctly“play this as 16:9” and when it’s SD source. So free scale doing stretch or compress source in the width is only possibel over this “square pixel” function, every other custom set resolution into Topaz does “keep aspect ratio”.
So I had often not the square pixel function when it should appear, and was giving up, I’m doing everything stretch/crop and others now into Virtualdub
