Uprezz Above 8K

I wonder if version 4 would allow uprezzing to beyond 8K rez, like a 4:3 image ratio of 8K, but retaining the image ratio. Sort of like 7860 x 5667. As it currently is, Video AI wont let you go above 8K without an error and resultant failure to process. Maybe allow video up to 12K or if you want to be crazy, 16K. It makes cropping the video easier, and also downrezzes to a sharper video in 8K for example in Premiere Pro. I know there isnt a lot of call for anything above 8K yet, but it still could be useful as an option.

And Im very aware 12K video is very computer dependant on time and processing power. But for short clips, I think working with 12K video would be useful. Premiere Pro already allows rezzes beyond 8K, even if you have to manually enter in the rez numbers. Its useful to work with 12K for downrezzing or cropping later for your master video.

Make sure you post in the correct category next time and don’t forget to vote for it.

I thought I had it in the correct category, as it was in the “Product Requests” section, which is where I thought you’d voice what you want to see in the product next.

Resolutions beyond 8K are currently supported in the app, but are limited to a smaller set of export codecs since most H264/5 hardware encoders have a maximum resolution limit:

Im pretty sure H265 was designed to go above 8K, but whether there is an actual codec, I dont know. That said Topaz themselves stated there will be an error in the processing if you try and go above 8K rez. And sure enough there was. I did try manually setting the rez, but it wont accept anything non standard when processing.

And what codec can you use above 8K? Hopefully nothing Youtube specific that Adobe Premiere Pro can’t work with.
