Unsatisfactory Results After Recent Topaz Updates

Dear Support Team,

I have been an enthusiastic user of Topaz Photo AI and have purchased all other Topaz products, consistently experiencing high satisfaction. However, I recently returned from a concert tour and aimed to edit my photos, some of which were taken with a smartphone and resulted in blurred and shaky images.

Before the recent updates, I was confident that Topaz could salvage all my photos. However, following the latest updates, I have no idea what changes have been made, but I am now highly dissatisfied with the program. I see no improvements whatsoever; in fact, the results are worse. Previously, I always used the automatic function and was very satisfied with the outcomes. Now, it seems that you have completely abandoned hobby users, forcing us to adjust settings manually, which we certainly cannot do as well as professionals.

This means that if an automatic version is not reintroduced soon, this program will be of no interest to me in the future. My question is, can you help me configure the settings to become a satisfied user once again? As mentioned, the recent updates are more than a joke for a hobby user in the automatic area. I see no improvements, whereas before, the improvements were significant.

What am I doing wrong, or what have you changed that is causing my dissatisfaction? I would greatly appreciate your assistance. Attached are the log files and an example photo for your reference.

Best regards,

Norman

Steps to reproduce issue:

  • Step 1: Export a photo from Lightroom to Topaz.
  • Step 2: Use only the automatic function in Topaz.
  • Step 3: Review the results and see no changes. Adjusting the sliders also brings no changes or improvements. I do not know in which direction to move the sliders as I lack the skills to use this program professionally. Previously, the automatic mode made it simpler.

Hi,

  1. select Preferences within the Edit Menu
  2. Make sure Autopilot is set to on
  3. Now go through all the menu items and change the Selection Subject options to All especially, for the Sharpen menu because, sometimes Photo AI get confused if the subject matter is very busy within the image.

This should resolve your issue, if not here’s a couple of links that may help

Hope this helps
