Topaz won't install neuroserver

It won’t download the second neuroserver file. 2 of 2. The first one, 1 of 2, downloads and installs fine.

I received the same error message when I downloaded the update.

Someone from Topaz please reply about this issue.

The 1.5.0 update literally borks neuroserver and therefore all Starlight models are useless.

HELP?!

We are aware of this issue and the devs are looking into it.

Some users have seen a resolution by following these steps:

Uninstall current app and remove all files and folders for Topaz Video

Download a clean installer for Topaz Video | 1.5.0 | Win

Run the installer, if it hits a snag, close it all down.

Remove these files if they are found on the system and then relaunch the installer with Admin privileges and choose Repair.

C:\Program Files\Topaz Labs LLC\Topaz Video\neuroserver-install-warning.txt
C:\Program Files\Topaz Labs LLC\Topaz Video\neuroserver-install-status.json

Please update here if you are still getting this error after these steps.

Update from the devs, for anyone seeing this issue with the SHA-512 issue.

Please go to the file path and delete the text document if you see it there, and then launch the app and try to run one of the Starlight models.

C:\Program Files\Topaz Labs LLC\Topaz Video\neuroserver-install-warning.txt

This should resolve the issue and allow the app to launch and Neuroserver to be used with the models.

Same problem with the new version of Gigapixel. This seems to be device dependent, though. No problem on my PC but Gigapixel had the problem described above when installing on my laptop.

However, I’ll stop trying to install/use Topaz products on this laptop. Too much resources required.

Can you write into the support team at help@topazlabs.com and we can get the Gigapixel team to follow up on that issue?

Explain me.

Is my problem 10GB AMD GC

I was having no luck with updates or repairs. What finally worked for me was uninstalling Topaz Video, deleting the install directory, and running the TopazVideo-1.6.0.msi installer from an elevated command prompt.

MSI files don’t show a “Run as administrator” option in the right‑click menu, so you must launch them from an elevated shell.

Start → type “cmd” → right‑click Command Prompt → Run as administrator**- You should see Administrator: Command Prompt in the window title

  • This ensures the MSI runs with full system privileges

Point the elevated command prompt to the directory where the MSI is stored.

  • Use cd to change directories

  • Example: cd C:\Users\user\Downloads

  • Type the TopazVideo-1.6.0.msi and press Enter

Based on that sample of the log, yes the issue is the system does not meet the requirements but I would need to see the full log to get a better idea of everything. You can email the logs to me at help@topazlabs.com if you wish.

Where can I find full log ( in what folder)

To gather logs, please select Help > Logging > Get Logs for Support and attach the zip file to your reply.

Here is a video to help with the steps of how to collect the logs.

Sending You logs. And my question: the problem is AMD graphic Card Radeon 6700 with 10GB memory ( so too small) or maybe something other.

Hey Kyle ! (Hi !)

my system is : i7-7700 with 1050ti (running everydays) but sometimes, i plug a rtx 4060 (8Gb) on it.
but can’t have it running everydays as you maybe know now ;).

So, is installing the neuroserver, removes the capabilities to run eventually Video on my 1050ti ?
if yes.. i could use VideoAi for the 1050ti and Video for the RTX. not a good situation but it could be worst.. if it really is an improvement. does installing neuroserver really worth it ?

it will not make an issue on the VideoAi / Gigapixel Ai / PhotoAi Legacy installation ? right ?
thx !

The Neuroserver is meant to help with the Starlight models processing locally, which the 1050 Ti is not able to handle anyways. For working in Video AI, you should be okay with that card. The 4060 would be more ideal for the newer app but you would still be limited to just Starlight Mini and it would be pretty slow. There should not be any issues with the legacy installations either.

They are still working on this situation, and I have not gotten word on if the card itself and the memory are limiting the install or not.

so installing the neuroserver with the 4060 is useless ? it needs a more powerful card ? (just to be sure  ) as neuroserver seems to be deployed in gigapixel as well. actually, te 1050ti can run and work with the new app (but using basic models , iris-2 or 3, apollo fast, chronos fast. proteus..

Video uses more Vram than VideoAi on the same models :frowning: (200 or 300mb are lost… between the new and the legacy app), that’s why i use VideoAi with the 1050ti.

I tried the starlight mini model with the RTX.. not sure if it’s that useful , i didn’t tried it enough (waiting the token issue to be fixed for that lol).

so 4060 + Video (the app) + starlight mini only + neuroserver = useful ?, or better to stay to stay on 4060 + Video (the app) + starlight mini without neuroserver (and keeping the compatibility to run it on the 1050ti as well (not running starlight mini on the 1050 of course  )

just to be sure. but certainly i can do a test, and can re install the app without neuroserver if it’s not that great or that i don’t use starlight mini that often. right ?
